PARENTS NIGHT:
Thank you to all of the parents who attended the Parents’ Night. It was a huge success and everyone seemed to have a good time. Many new parents came and were able to meet other parents and get to know more about the school. There was a great jazz band and the music and the conversation was enjoyed by all. If you would like to contact the jazz band please call -
Mr. Juan Pareda at 242-4405.

Thank you also to Toni Romero at the US Embassy for helping Kim get all the tables, dinnerware, linens, etc. for the event.
We had a turn out of over 65 people! Thank you again to the PTA and the communication committee for organizing this and for all of their hard work on this event . The communication committee and the PTA will continue to work tirelessly together through the year to organize more events and we hope you will help us to make these projects and events successful. We depend on your cooperation for the success of all future PTA events.
Detailed report for expenses for Parents night is available if you would like to view it. Please see Erika Garcia.
SUGGESTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR:
*plan it at the end of year for next year
*have it earlier in year-before the ACS Picnic-in August
*promote it by involving more parents
PTA ELECTIONS:
If you are interested in participating in PTA as an officer, an assistant or a committee member, please contact Kimberly Traw at kimberlytraw@hotmail.com
NEWCOMER INFORMATION KIT:
Thank you to Carla Morgan for donating business cards and helpful brochures for the ACS newcomer information kit.
Erika is still working on coordinating all the information for this welcome kit.
CAREER FAIR:
Erika and Kim talked with Rachel Siegel about helping to organize the career fair and how to implement the fair. We will have a set date for the career fair by the end of the week.
Kim is continuing to recruit volunteer presenters-parents and any other community members. PLEASE, please contact Kim Traw at kimberlytraw@hotmail.com to volunteer to present about their careers and professions.
SET-UP-we will need parent volunteers from high school to help set-up for the career fair booths. Contact Kim Traw at kimberlytraw@hotmail.com.
HALLOWEEN FAIR:
A gentleman Juan Carlos Salgado has offered his services for food for the halloween fair for sale. Could they then pay a fee and then the kids can earn some money? Could they have a bake sale with Halloween themed baked goodies to raise money? Erika will suggest this to Jackie to give this information to the high schoolers.
PTA members are going to talk to the guy from BATA about potentially making ACS t-shirts for sale at the Halloween fair. Toni will be in charge of this.
